Transfers from the wineries of La Rioja
La Rioja is one of the world's most important wine tourism destinations, and many international visitors finish their winery tour to fly from Bilbao. We offer fixed-price transfers from the main wine enclaves:
- Haro: the capital of Rioja wine, with the famous Barrio de la Estación and its century-old wineries.
- Laguardia: a walled medieval town in the heart of the Rioja Alavesa.
- Elciego: home to iconic wineries with spectacular architecture.
- Briones, Cenicero, Fuenmayor and the rest of the wine region.
As it is a private transfer, you can leave straight from your winery, hotel or rural accommodation with all your luggage (and cases of wine) without worrying about transfers. Give us the exact address when booking your taxi from Logroño and La Rioja to Bilbao Airport.
The route via the AP-68

- Entering Biscay: via the Llodio area and the Cadagua corridor.
- Airport exit: direct link to Bilbao Airport in Loiu.
The AP-68 tolls are included in the fixed price, no surprises.

The harvest and the peak wine tourism season
September and October are the months of the grape harvest (vendimia) in La Rioja, the most sought-after season of the year for wine tourism. Wineries fill up, accommodation sells out and airport transfers soar. If your trip coincides with these dates, book the taxi in advance to secure the vehicle, especially if you travel as a group or with cases of wine. Outside the harvest, spring is also a lovely and somewhat quieter time to tour the region.
Tips for the Logroño → BIO journey
- Book in advance during the harvest season (September-October) and on long weekends, when La Rioja fills up.
- Give us your flight number to adjust the pick-up.
- Let us know if you carry cases of wine or bulky luggage so we assign a vehicle with enough space.
- Book a return trip to secure your way back after your winery tour.
